Football Playoff Preview: Minnetonka vs. Eden Prairie

Minnetonka faces familiar Lake Conference foe Eden Prairie in the Section 6AAAAA finals Friday.

FOOTBALL PLAYOFF PREVIEW

Minnetonka (8-2, 2-2 Lake Conference) vs. Eden Prairie (8-1, 3-1 Lake Conference)

PLAYMAKERS
-- DeCeon Schumann (Minnetonka - Running Back)
The junior had 12 carries for 122 yards and two touchdowns in playoff win over Chahassen. He has helped the running game survive the loss of standout runner Rashad Cohen.
-- DeAndre Singleton (Minnetonka – Running Back/Cornerback)
The junior had 17 carries for 91 yards and two touchdowns against Chanhassen. He has scored five rushing touchdowns in the postseason and made a smooth transition from playing defensive back.
-- Andrew Larson (Eden Prairie – Running Back)
KARE-11 preseason All-Metro selection has rushed for 1,150 yards and 18 touchdowns this season. Larson has scholarship offers from North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota and South Dakota State.
-- Nick Davidson (Eden Prairie –Tackle)
The son of Minnesota Vikings offensive line coach Jeff, Nick is considering Stanford, Clemson, Ohio State, Oregon and Colorado. He visited Stanford recently for their game versus Colorado and will visit the other schools after the football season.

SKIPPERS WIN IF...
They can continue to run the ball well against a strong Eagles’ defense that shut out Minnetonka in Week 6. They have rushed for 651 yards and 11 touchdowns in their two playoff wins. The Skippers have four ball carriers who have gained more than 100 yards in the postseason.

EAGLES WIN IF...
They can continue to pound the ball with standout running back Larson behind a big offensive line. Their running game keeps the offensive on the field and wears down opposing teams.
