Minnetonka Coach, Player Compete in All-Star Game

A local standout player and local coach competed in game that divided the state's all stars into North and South teams.

The 38th Annual Minnesota All-Star Football Game took place on Saturday evening at TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota.

The All-Stars, divided into two teams representing the Northern and Southern parts of the state, battled in a close game.

Minnetonka head coach Dave Nelson served as head coach of the South All-Stars. Nelson—who served as an assistant coach in the 1987 All-Star game—was picked to coach the South squad by the All-Star committee of the Minnesota Football Coaches Association.
