Sixth Graders Hope to Beat $14,000 Goal For Water in Haiti

Sixth graders at Minnetonka Middle School East walked for water in Haiti Friday.

Students got outside in the beautiful weather Friday to walk for a cause.

Sixth graders at have organized their second annual “Water Walk for Haiti.” Last year students raised more than $14,000 for Haiti Outreach to build additional water wells.

"Our goal is to beat that," said sixth grader Simon Kluzak.

Students raised money by getting sponsors and pledges for walking laps (one lap is about 5/6 of a mile).

"Some are selling things like survival bands and bracelets they made," he said.
