Minnetonka Standout Students: Dean's Lists, College Grads and Honors

Military Academy Appointees

Representative Erik Paulsen (MN-03) hosted a reception to congratulate the five military academy appointees from Minnesota’s Third Congressional District on June 10. The appointees include Anna Meiusi, Minnetonka High School – resident of Excelsior (United States Air Force Academy).

University of North Dakota Honors

The University of North Dakota released its 2013 Spring Semester President’s Roll of Honor. To qualify for the President’s Roll of Honor, a student must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.80 or higher. Minnetonka students are Olivia Bovee and Katie Roche.

Augustana College Grad

Four hundred and thirteen students participated in the Augustana College Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 25, at the Elmen Center.

The following areas student received a degree from Augustana College: Luke Benjamin from Minnetonka, MN (Bachelor of Arts).

St. Olaf College Grads

The following local residents graduated from St. Olaf College. St. Olaf President David R. Anderson '74, awarded 689 diplomas to the class of 2013.

Kelsey Brown of Minnetonka graduated cum laude with an Asian Studies and Sociology/Anthropology major. Brown is the daughter of Harold Brown and Marilyn LaFleur-Brown.

Siri Jorstad of Minnetonka graduated with a Psychology major. Jorstad is the daughter of David and Deanna Jorstad.

Steven Kannenberg of Minnetonka graduated with a Biology major. Kannenberg is the son of Andrew and Kathryn Kannenberg.

Andrew Matson of Minnetonka graduated with a History and Political Science major. Matson is the son of Thomas and Jennifer Matson.

Kari Nelson of Minnetonka graduated magna cum laude with a Theater major. She earned distinction in Theater. Nelson is the daughter of Dirk and Laura Nelson.

Sophie Pietrick of Minnetonka graduated cum laude with a Nursing major. Pietrick is the daughter of Donald and Lynn Pietrick .

Adam Sveum of Minnetonka graduated with an Economics major. Sveum is the son of Richard Sveum and Jennifer Olson.

St. Olaf College Dean's List

Marci Sortor, Dean and Provost of St. Olaf College, has named the following local students to the St. Olaf College Dean's list for the Spring 2013 semester. The Dean's list recognizes students with a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4-point scale.

Andrew Harris from Minnetonka is an English and Political Science major. He is the son of Peter and Anne Harris.

Sarah Hill from Minnetonka is an undecided major. She is the daughter of Jeffrey and Molly Hill.

Steven Kannenberg from Minnetonka is a Biology major. He is the son of Andrew and Kathryn Kannenberg.

Sophie Pietrick from Minnetonka is a Nursing major. She is the daughter of Donald and Lynn Pietrick.

Perry Thompson from Minnetonka is a Mathematics and Chemistry major. He is the son of Randall and Kimberley Thompson.

Clark University Grad

Rachel K. Abrams, of Minnetonka, Minn., received a degree from Clark University on Sunday, May 19. Abrams graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in international development and social change. Abrams is a member of the Gryphon & Pleiades honor society.

Benedictine College Dean's List

Benedictine College has recognized those students who have distinguished themselves academically during the last semester. Hannah Sattler of Minnetonka was recently named to the Dean's List for the spring semester. To achieve the Dean's List, students must carry a minimum of 12 credit hours and have a 3.5 to 3.9 grade point average.

Beloit College Grads

Carrie Hatcher from Minnetonka, MN graduated from Beloit College on May 12, 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

UW-Whitewater Dean's List

Benjamin Kenyon from Minnetonka, Minn., has made the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Dean's List for the 2013 spring semester. Students selected for the Dean's List have demonstrated their academic abilities by receiving a grade point average of 3.4 or above in a single semester.

Fort Lewis College Grad/Dean's List

Harrison Brown, of Minnetonka, MN, has been named to Fort Lewis College's Dean's List for the Spring 2013 semester. Brown received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Exercise Science - Exercise Physiology Option this spring. 

Luther College Dean's List

Kevin Kraus, Luther College vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college, has announced that 792 were named to the 2013 spring semester Dean's List.

Jacob Ehresmann, Luther College junior from Minnetonka, Minn., was named to the list.

Sofi Kragness, Luther College sophomore from Minnetonka, Minn., was named to the list.

Jennifer Schulz, Luther College senior from Minnetonka, Minn., was named to the list.

Rebekah Schulz, Luther College junior from Minnetonka, Minn., was named to the list.

St. Lawrence University Dean's List

The following student has been selected for inclusion on the Dean's List for academic achievement during the spring semester at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. To be eligible for the Dean's List at St. Lawrence University, a student must have completed at least four semester units and have an academic average of 3.6 (based on a perfect 4.0 scale) for the semester.

Kylie M. Knapp of Minnetonka; is a member of the class of 2013, and majors in biology. Knapp graduated from Minnetonka High School.

UW-River Falls Dean's List

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls spring semester Dean's List honoring 1,384 students has been released by Registrar Daniel Vande Yacht.

To be named to the Dean's List, a full-time undergraduate student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a scale of 4.0, or midway between an "A" and "B" average. The following area student was named to the list:
