Ripon College Dean's List

Carl Meisner, a first year Computer Science and undeclared major, has been named to the Dean's List at Ripon College for the spring 2013 semester, which recognizes academic excellence. Meisner is the child of Mr. John Meisner and Dr. Judith Meisner of Minnetonka.

Skidmore College Grad

Samantha Glatstein of Minnetonka received a BA degree.

U of M Crookston Award

Brittany Fox, a freshman majoring in business management from Minnetonka, was recognized for achievement with the Delta Theta Sigma- Dale Knotek Community Service Award.

University of Wisconsin-Stout Grads

Local students from the area graduated from UW-Stout at the May commencement ceremony:
• Susanna Anderson, of Minnetonka, received a BS Business Administration.
• Josh Bank-Ivers, of Minnetonka, received a BS Business Administration.
• Brian Georgeson, of Minnetonka, received a BS Packaging.
• Jessica Luddy, of Minnetonka, received a MS School Counseling.
• Mark Robins, of Minnetonka, received a BS Game Design and Development.
• Elizabeth Sicheneder, of Minnetonka, received a BFA Art.

Concordia University, St. Paul Grads

The following students graduated from Concordia University, St. Paul in May:
• Rachel Logan of Minnetonka graduated with a Master of Arts in Education.
Cathleen Golubski of Minnetonka graduated with a Master of Arts in Leadership Management.
• Logan Bouts of Minnetonka graduated from Concordia University, St. Paul during the traditional undergraduate commencement ceremony. Bouts graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Exercise Science.

Fort Lewis College Research Project

The Fort Lewis College School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences held its annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on Thursday, April 18, 2013. Harrison Brown, of Minnetonka, presented a research project titled "The acute effect of heel to toe drops on running economy," with other students, supervised by Melissa Knight-Maloney. Brown's major is Exercise Science - Exercise Physiology Option.

Larsen Design Scholarship

Beth Sicheneder, of Minnetonka, was recently awarded the Larsen Design Scholarship as part of AIGA's Portfolio 1-on-1 competition. Sicheneder, who graduated May 11 from University of Wisconsin-Stout, majored in art.

Carleton College Track and Field Team

Anna Cich, a resident of Minnetonka, is a member of the Carleton women's outdoor track and field team for the 2013 season. Cich is a graduate of Hopkins High School and is currently a first-year at Carleton.

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi

The following local residents recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. 
• Jesse Jones of Minnetonka initiated at University of Minnesota
• Joshua Lupinek of Minnetonka initiated at University of Minnesota
• Abbie Anna Baldwin of Hopkins initiated at University of Puget Sound

Phi Beta Kappa

The following local students from Gustavus Adolphus College were inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious honor society:
• Hallee C. Adamsheck, Minnetonka
• Matthew J. Bye, Minnetonka
• Kristen R. Campbell, Excelsior
• Taylor M. Logeais, Minnetonka
• Trevor J. Oestenstad, Minnetonka

Phi Beta Kappa at Luther College

Jennifer Schulz, a Luther College senior from Minnetonka, was inducted into the Luther chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa national academic honor society. She is majoring in applied mathematics and German at Luther, and is a graduate of homeschool.

Marquette University Dean's List

• Taylor Lee of Minnetonka is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising.
• Samuel Mogensen of Minnetonka is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
• Sidney Pilarski of Minnetonka is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

St. Olaf College Achievements 

The following local residents were among nearly 900 St. Olaf College students who were recognized for academic achievement at the college's annual Honors Day convocation on May 3. 
• Kelsey Brown from Minnetonka, is an Asian Studies and Sociology/Anthropology major. Her additional honors included membership in Alpha Kappa Delta and Alpha Psi Omega. She is the daughter of Harold Brown and Marilyn leFleur-Brown.
• Andrew Harris from Minnetonka, is an English and Political Science major. He is the son of Peter and Anne Harris.
• Siri Jorstad from Minnetonka, is a Psychology major. In addition, she was awarded membership in PSi Chi. She is the daughter of David and Deanna Jorstad.
• Kari Nelson from Minnetonka, is a Theater major. In addition, she was awarded membership in Alpha Psi Omega. She is the daughter of Dirk and Laura Nelson.
• Sophie Pietrick from Minnetonka, is a Nursing major. In addition, she was awarded membership in Sigma Theta Tau. She is the daughter of Donald and Lynn Pietrick.
• Perry Thompson from Minnetonka, is a Mathematics and Chemistry major. He is the son of Randall and Kimberley Thompson.

University of Vermont Grads

A list of local students and the degree earned by each follows:
• Stephen R. Morris of Minnetonka received a MD in Medicine.
• Anna E. Wiens of Minnetonka received a BS in Self-Designed.

University of Kansas Grads

Area candidates for degree are as follows:
• Taylor Boyle, of Minnetonka, received a Bachelor of Science in Business in Accounting & Bachelor of Science in Business in Finance.
• Joshua Goldberg, of Minnetonka, received a Bachelor of General Studies in American Studies & Sociology minor.
• Sophie Lapkin, of Minnetonka, received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
• Madlyn Friedenfeld, of Minnetonka, received a Business minor & Bachelor of Science in Journalism.
