  • All elementary, middle and high schools will be closed.

Students at Minnetonka Schools had the day off due to a teacher workshop on Monday. Schools around the state, including Hopkins, were closed due to the weather.

The National Weather Service expected a high near -8 and wind chill values as low as -41, with a west northwest wind 15 to 20 mph and gusts as high as 25 mph on Monday.

Tuesday's forecast calls for a high of -1 and a wind chill of -40.

Will the districts have to make up days?

The Minnetonka School District is asking the Minnesota Department of Education for input, although the district already has more days of instruction than required.
