Minnetonka iPad Project Expands to All Students Grades 8-11

Students will be issued iPads for the school year, just as they have been traditionally issued textbooks. Next year's iPad Project also includes eighth graders in Minnetonka.

Each school year, Minnetonka Schools expands its iPad Project.

Currently, students in grades 9-11 are issued iPads in the place of textbooks.

Next school year, the 1:1 iPad Project will be expanded to include all students in grades 8-11.

Instruction with iPads in eighth grade will smooth the transition from middle school to high school, according to school officials. In addition, recent curriculum adoptions for eighth grade social studies, science and math include excellent digital resources.

In the second year of the iPad Project, all ninth and tenth graders use iPads to access digital curriculum materials and student collaboration tools while also receiving individualized instruction in math, language arts, science and social studies, all with the goal of enhancing student learning.
