Minnetonka Girls Win Alpine State Title, Boys Take Second

Skippers girls team takes home crown with 149 team points.

The Minnetonka girls alpine ski team took home that state title on Wednesday, beating the field in convincing fashion at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.

The Skippers won the state meet with 149 team points, ahead of Bloomington Jefferson’s 140 points. The Minnetonka boys took second overall with 167 points—St. Thomas Academy won the meet with a team total of 174.

On the girls side, Erin Olejnik took ninth place with a two-run finish of 1:16.9. Megan Greiner finished 17th at 1:18.1, Marlee Gartner took 20th at 1:19.0, Madison Gartner took 21st at 1:19.3 and Jessica Landa finished 32nd at 1:20.0.

On the boys side, Peter Albertson took 4th at 1:07.75, Lars Midthun took 15th at 1:09.8, Griffin Robillard finished 16th at 1:10.0, Ben Capper took 21st at 1:10.67 and Griffin Struyk took 47th at 1:17.21.
