PHOTOS: Minnetonka Boys Dominate No. 1 Duluth East On Hockey Day
The Minnetonka boys hockey team topples Duluth East 9-3 in their first loss of the season Saturday.
As part of Hockey Day Minnesota, the hosted three games on Saturday afternoon. The most notable matchup being the No. 2 ranked Minnetonka boys against last year's runner up and No. 1 ranked Duluth East.
The Skippers started off the scoring with a goal from Erik Baskin at 5:43 in the first period. Duluth East quickly evened the score with a score 37 seconds later. But then Minnetonka scored the next four goals to start the rout of Duluth East.
Max Coatta scored four goals for the Skippers team and Erik Baskin had two. Vinny Lettieri helped out his teammates with four assists in the game.

Three high school hockey games were originally slated to be played at Excelsior Bay on Lake Minnetonka, but unusually warm weather forced a change in plans last week.
The Skippers (16-2) will next face off against Wayzata (11-4-1) at home on Jan. 26.
