Street Sweeping Delayed Because of Cold Weather

It will start in mid-April instead of April 1.

Snow and continuing cold weather has delayed street sweeping that was supposed to start April 1, according to the City of Minnetonka.

Street sweeping is now scheduled to start in mid-April. Public works will sweep streets in two shifts—from 4:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.—for four weeks or until sweeping is complete.

The double shifts are necessary in order to finish before seasonal blacktop work starts.

In order to help the street sweeping process, the city asks residents to remove and dispose of debris and litter that has accumulated in neighborhood catch basins.

Water main flushing will begin after sweeping is finished. Minnetonka will have more information on the in April.
