The commission began by unanimously recommending that the City Council approve a conditional use permit for Joy Senior Center. There was no discussion on the project.

The center is planned as a 60-person adult daycare center near Interstate 394 and Hopkins Crossroads. It would provide “health and social type services to the seniors of the community” from a 3,520-square-foot facility in the Woodside Office Park, located at 10550 Wazyata Blvd.

Ike’s Minnetonka

Commissioners also unanimously recommended that Ike’s Minnetonka be allowed to expand its patio dining with a spacious new deck.

The restaurant, located at 17805 Highway 7, has asked the city for permission to build a 1,000-square-foot deck on the west side of the building that would add 56 new seats, according to the company. The proposal requires the city to grant an amendment to the site’s conditional use permit.

Shoppes on 101

“The Shoppes on 101” won the commission’s approval, as well. The project, located at 4801 County Road 101, would result in a 14,000 square foot building in the southwest corner of the existing Cub Foods parking lot.

H.J. Development plans for construction to begin in the spring and turnover to tenants in the late summer, according to the company’s website.

All three projects are expected to go before the City Council on May 13.
