Patty Acomb Elected to Minnetonka City Council

We have a winner! Patty Acomb wins the seat with 35 percent of the vote.

Campaigns are over, and a new member of the Minnetonka City Council has been chosen.

beat out her seven competitors to take the seat for  member, At Large Seat B.

With absentee votes included, there were a total of 2,770 votes in the Valentine's Day special election. With 34,454 registered voters in Minnetonka, this election saw a turnout of 8 percent. In the November general election, 13 percent of those registered voted.

Acomb won with 34.9 percent of the vote, followed by front-runners John Knight (30.4 percent) and Peggy Kvam (25.2 percent).

Acomb, who had been , has served on the Park Board for the past 3 years and is the current chair-elect. She was born and raised in Minnetonka and works for Hopkins Schools as a naturalist and a Hennepin County wetland evaluator.

The position became vacant when former council member Amber Greves resigned the position in December.
