Check out this update on construction in the city of Minnetonka.

The following is a list of construction activities that are in progress or have been scheduled in Minnetonka.

CITY PROJECTS

Ringer Road Area Street Reconstruction
Work continues on water main repairs. The contractor has scheduled the last main valve replacement work to begin this morning, and anticipates it will be completed by the end of the day. Testing of the newly installed main on Ringer Road is in progress. If all tests pass, the temporary water service line could be removed this week. The contractor has completed all sanitary sewer spot repairs. The contractor continues storm sewer work along Ringer Road, Lyman Lane, and Adeline Lane. The contractor has tentatively scheduled concrete curb and gutter installation to begin late this week.

McGinty Road East Area Street Reconstruction
The contractor has begun reclaiming the asphalt surfacing throughout the project area. Reclaiming has been completed on Wentworth Trail, Ellsworth Lane, Forest Lane, Hazel Lane, and McGinty Road East. The contractor has tentatively scheduled road grading to begin this week. The contractor has tentatively scheduled tree removal to begin this week. All trees to be removed will be marked by the city prior to removal. The Postal Service has reviewed the location of the temporary mailboxes on McGinty Road, and decided that they should be relocated. The mailboxes will be moved from the east side of McGinty Road to the west side. The contractor has tentatively scheduled work to relocate the mailboxes to occur early this week.

2012 Contractor Overlay Project
Paving work continues in phase 1. The contractor has tentatively scheduled phase 1 paving to be completed late this week. The contractor has tentatively scheduled paving of Rowland Road and Jordan Avenue to begin late this week. The contractor has completed casting adjustment work in the phase 2 area. The contractor has tentatively scheduled paving to begin in phase 2 this week.

Ranchview Court
The contractor has tentatively scheduled wear course saw and seal operations to be completed later this summer.

Coyote Song
The city reviewed the site with the owner and contractor, and marked trees for removal. The contractor has tentatively scheduled tree removal to begin late last week. The contractor has tentatively scheduled sanitary sewer and water main construction to begin this week.

DEVELOPER PROJECTS

Lone Lake Highlands
Punchlist work continues. Wear course paving will be completed summer 2012.

COUNTY PROJECTS

County Road 73 (Hopkins Crossroad) Culvert Repair
Hennepin County is replacing a culvert that failed beneath Hopkins Crossroad, near the intersection of Joy Lane. The county has tentatively scheduled repair work to begin Monday, June 25 and anticipates the repair work will take three days. The county has indicated Hopkins Crossroad will remain open during the work, but will be flagged and likely reduced to one lane during the day.

STATE PROJECTS

Trunk Highway 7 (TH 7) Pedestrian Safety Improvements
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MN/DOT) has begun work to upgrade TH 7 pedestrian crossings at Williston Road, Tonkawood Road and County Road 101. This project is part of a metro area wide initiative by MN/DOT to improve pedestrian safety at trunk highway crossings. The improvements include, but are not limited to, accessibility upgrades meeting Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, installation of countdown timers, and crosswalk striping. MN/DOT has tentatively scheduled the work in Minnetonka to be completed by late July.
