Letter: Why I’m Voting for Mark Stefan

To the Editor:

I’m supporting Mark Stefan for State Representative in 44B (Minnetonka).  

I’ve had the opportunity to talk to Mark on a number of occasions during this campaign season and I wanted to share some insights for voters that maybe haven’t had that opportunity.  Mark immediately struck me as a bit unusual for someone running for office, and I mean that in the best possible way.  He’s not a career politician and he doesn’t have the smooth vagueness one often finds in career politicians.  

Mark is a pragmatic minded small businessman, and if you ask him what he thinks about something he gives you a specific answer.

The National Federation of Independent Businesses, the state’s biggest small business association, recently gave Mark Stefan their endorsement.  This is no accident.  Mark understands that 75% of new jobs come out of small business.  He understands how budgets work and that's why he supports a real balanced budget, without accounting gimmics, and fewer regulations tying up small business.  

Mark Stefan is in this race because he genuinely believes that crushing debts and excessive government are making it harder for the next generation to achieve their dreams.  He's an honest, old-fashioned fiscal conservative.  That’s why I’m voting for Mark Stefan.
