Letter to the Editor: Rep. Benson Hopes for Renewed Bipartisanship

There is still plenty to do to grow jobs, reform government, reign in property taxes and invest in our state's infrastructure, according to Benson.

To the editor:

The 2012 Legislative Session is underway. After last year’s contentious and painful shutdown and special session that resulted in an agreement to irresponsibly steal money from our schoolchildren and borrow through the sale of tobacco bonds, I’m hoping for a renewed sense of bipartisanship and collaboration to make progress for the people of our state.

While we’ve seen the economy improve over the last few several months, we still have tremendous obstacles to future prosperity that we should address. There is still plenty to do to grow jobs, reform government, reign in property taxes, and invest in our state’s infrastructure. I’ll continue doing all that I can to improve the quality of life in our community.
