HCMC Picks Minnetonka Site for New Clinic

The $53 million clinic will be located at 10955 Wayzata Boulevard.

Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) has chosen a site in Minnetonka for its newest $53 million clinic.

Opus Development Corp. has proposed to the city plans to construct a three-story building at 10955 Wayzata Boulevard, near I-394. The 121,000 square-foot building would be occupied by a HCMC Clinic.

To move foraward, the proposal requires from the city: a minor amendment to the existing master development plan for the site; approval of final site and building plans; and a conditional use permit, with variance from the locational standards for a medical use.

The facility will provide specialty surgical services, including outpatient-only surgery, gastrointestinal procedures, advanced imaging procedures, and surgical consultation services. In addition, multi-specialty medical services such as echocardiology and neurophysiology services will be offered. The clinic will not offer emergency medical services.

The planning commission plans to take up the issue at its Dec. 13 meeting and may push it forward to the city council at its Jan. 7 meeting.
