The 3rd LWV CMAL Quarterly meeting will be Saturday March 24 beginning with 9:30 registration and refreshments and closing at 12:00 noon.
It will be held at Kings Crossing Apartments, 500 Dale St. No. (University and Dale St), St. Paul, MN 55103. This Quarterly Meeting will focus on the Met Council and interactions with cities, watershed districts and other agencies involved in providing safe and adequate water to residents of the metropolitan area.
Being discussed will be surface water, drinking water, and waste water and how they are handled to attain sustainability of water use. A panel discussion will feature: Linda Loomis -former mayor of Golden Valley and chairperson of Bassett Creek Watershed District; Blair Tremere -former mayor of Golden Valley and former employee of the Met Council and Hennepin County; Patricia Nauman -Executive Director of Metro Cities that lobbies the legislature on behalf of those cities.
The Council of Metropolitan Area Leagues (CMAL) was created in 1962 with the goal of increasing knowledge and effectiveness of League of Women Voter members and the public in addressing governmental issues and problems in the 7 County Metropolitan Area. All are welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting.
