Woman Wakes Up to Burglar in Bedroom Doorway

Police have charged a suspect with first-degree burglary.

Minnetonka police have arrested a man who’s thought to have be a burglar who a woman awoke to find in her bedroom doorway last weekend, according to the City of Minnetonka.

Officers went to the 5400 block of Williston Road on Sept. 29 following a report of a burglary. The woman said there was someone standing in her bedroom doorway when she woke up.

She initially thought it was her daughter or her daughter’s boyfriend. But when she tried to speak to the person, she realized it was neither one of them. The woman noticed that items in her home were missing or had been disturbed.

When police canvassed the neighborhood one man said he thought his son had just committed a burglary. The man said he found a prescription bottle with the victim’s name in his home.

The son admitted entering the home and taking the medicine. Prosecutors charged the suspect with first-degree burglary, a felony, on Oct. 1.
