Two Brooklyn Center men have been ordered to court on charges of burglary in Minnetonka.
Anthony Ralph Kodlowski, 41, and Wade Allen Velisek, 55, of Brooklyn Center are charged with one count of felony third degree burglary by Hennepin County Court.
In January, Minnetonka Police were dispatched to a condo complex at 12700 Sherwood Place in response to a vehicle break-in inside the complex’s underground garage. The owner of the vehicle said a flat screen TV and DVD player were missing. A security camera caught two men breaking into a lockbox in the lobby of the complex, in order to get into the garage.
Photos of the men were made from the footage and given to other law enforcement agencies. A detective from Coon Rapids identified the men as Kodlowski and Velisek.
A second vehicle break-in was reported shortly after the one at the condos. The owner of the car said her car had been broken into at 5:45 a.m. while she was working out at the Marsh on Minnetonka Blvd. She told police that almost $700 in property, including her purse, had been stolen.
One of her credit cards had been used at Kwik Trip in Plymouth, and police identified Kodlowski and Velisek from the surveillance video at the gas station.
If convicted, each man faces up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
