Police: Man Assaulted Woman When She Helped Him

The man faces a felony charge of domestic assault.

Prosecutors have charged a man with domestic assault following accusations that he assaulted a woman he knew as she was trying to help him with his car, according to the City of Minnetonka.

On Aug. 6, officers went to the parking lot of Minnetonka Mills Townhomes at 11390 Minnetonka Mills Road in response to a report of a domestic assault. They found a woman upset and crying.

The woman, whose relationship to the man is not known, said he came to her home earlier in the day while he was drunk. She went over to help him while he was trying to change a tire on his car. But he “suddenly pulled the victim’s hair, grabbed her by the neck and attempted to force her to the ground,” according to the city.
