Police: Man Aims Handgun At Victim, Charged With Felony Assault

Daniel Craig was aiming a handgun at the victim when police arrived, according to court documents.

A 43-year-old Minnetonka man has been charged with felony second degree assault and felony domestic assault for allegedly pulling a handgun on his victim.

Daniel Robert Craig was charged in Hennepin County Court last week for the Nov. 16 incident.

A second degree assault conviction has a penalty of 3-7 years in prison and/or up to a $14,000 fine.

At 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 16, Minnetonka Police responded to a report of domestic assault. Police say they saw Craig holding a handgun in his right hand aimed at the victim. Both officers drew their duty weapons and ordered him to put the gun down, which he did.

Once he was cuffed, Craig became agitated and yelled at an officer and the victim, according to police.
