Minnetonka Home Burglarized While Owners Were Out Of Town

Investigators believe Erik Lopez and two friends broke into the home.

Nine months after a reported home burglary in Minnetonka, police have arrested and Hennepin County attorneys have charged someone in the incident.

Last April 20, were called to a home on Rainbow Drive. The caller reported his parents were out of town and that, when he visited the house, a door had been pried open and a television was missing.

Fingerprints on the damaged door led Minnetonka Police and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab Unit to Erik Lopez, 22, of Hopkins. St. Louis Park police arrested Lopez on Jan. 11, and Lopez now faces one count of second-degree burglary, a felony.
