Minnetonka Crime Report: Forged Check and First-Degree DWI

All information taken from the Minnetonka Police Department Crime Activity Report. This is not the complete report.

Jan. 8: A court summons was issued for Nathan Dean Hitchings, 39, of Minnetonka, for felony first-degree driving while impaired from an incident in July. Hitchings has three previous DWI convictions in the past 10 years.

Jan. 9: A court summons was issued for Velma Edwards, 53, of Minnetonka, for one count of felony offering a forged check. According to the court complaint, Edwards allegedly cashed a $6,500 check from someone else's closed account in October.

Jan. 9: Court summonses were issued for Jaime Lynn Chapman, 36, and Jacob Alan Kauffman, 29, of Crystal for felony financial card fraud. According to the criminal complaint, the victim says he never received his Visa in the mail. Instead, on the card.

Jan. 18 at 12:22 a.m.: A 44-year-old Watertown woman was arrested on the 134000 block of Wayzata Blvd. for gross misdemeanor giving false information to a police officer and misdemeanor possession of stolen property.

Jan. 18 at 3:38 p.m.: A 35-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested on the 5000 block of Baker Road for gross misdemeanor no insurance and misdemeanor driving after revocation.
