Man Found Dead in Ridgedale Byerly's Parking Lot Tuesday

Minnetonka Police Chief: "There is absolutely no risk to the public."

A man was found dead in the Ridgedale Byerly's parking lot Tuesday evening.

According to a news release from the city of Minnetonka, police received a report shortly before 7 p.m. of a vehicle up against a concrete pylon in the parking lot. Witnesses say the driver was slumped over the steering wheel and was unresponsive.

When officers arrived at the scene, they determined that the adult male had died.

The Minnetonka Police Dept. and Hennepin County Sheriff's Office are investigating. However, Minnetonka Police Chief Mark Raquet said Wednesday: "We do not suspect foul play. We think it may have been an accident or possibly a medical situation. Until the medical examiner's office conducts an autopsy, we won't know anything for sure."

Chief Raquet also added that "there is absolutely no risk to the public."
