Man Charged with Two More Minnetonka Burglaries

At one of the burglarized homes, a baby-sitter and child left for a short time and came back to discover someone had broken in.

A Minneapolis man was charged in court last week with two additional Minnetonka burglaries.

Mark Tracy Seaborn, 45, was charged with second degree burglary in both cases. Seaborn has multiple convictions for burglary and is currently on parole for a burglary conviction. He also has multiple active burglary cases in court.

• On Dec. 2, Minnetonka Police were dispatched to a home on Sherwood Lane in Minnetonka on a burglary call. Homeowners told police that they were away between 5:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. While they were out, their home was broken into. Police determined the entry point was a pried open basement window on the backside of the house. Numerous pieces of jewelry and a number of electronics were taken.

Police discovered muddy shoeprints throughout the house.

The 911 caller had been baby-sitting at the residence. She and the child had left for a short time, and when they returned, she noticed that her purse had been moved. She then noticed the damaged back door and went to a neighbor's to call 911.

Officers used a canine to track from the home to a nearby Target parking lot. A prescription labeled with one of the victim's names was found near another home with a door that had been kicked in.

• On March 14, Minnetonka Police responded to another burglary report. Similar shoeprints were located near the home, and police stopped Seaborn in the area. Officers determined the size of the shoeprints at both homes matched Seaborn's shoes.

Officers obtained search warrants for Seaborn's vehicle and two residences in North Minneapolis that are linked to him. During the searches, police say they located numerous items that were stolen, as positively identified by the homeowners.

Police found a pair of Nike shoes that appeared to match the size and tread pattern of the shoeprints at the Sherwood Lane home, according to the criminal complaint.

In March, Seaborn was also charged with second degree burglary in connection with a burglary in Long Lake that occured on Jan. 26. Three burglaries on Wolf Point Trail in Long Lake that day were the subject of a Crime Alert issued by Wayzata Police Department.
