The woman said she was able to fight off Dousette, get to her feet and flee his apartment, but as she left, she heard him yell, “You come across me again and I’m going to kill you,” she told police. She said Dousette threw something at her that hit the wall near the door as she escaped.

Police noted that the victim had what appeared to be bite marks on her neck, along with other injuries.

Dousette’s criminal history includes a 2001 conviction on three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, classified as a serious felony. He served a year in prison, with the remainder of his prison sentence stayed for 25 years, and was also placed on 25 years of probation.

Dousette has been released from custody on a $30,000 bond. An omnibus hearing in his case is scheduled Oct. 11 in Hennepin County District Court.
