Larceny and Drug Possession Among Recent Minnetonka Crimes

This week's Minnetonka police and fire report also lists DWI and domestic assault.

Dec. 12

The duty crew responded to a reported garage fire on Baker Road. First-arriving companies found a garbage can on fire in the garage which was removed before it spread to the structure. The home was temporarily evacuated and ventilated.

Dec. 13

A man, 69, from Minnetonka, Minn., was arrested in the 11200 block of Fetterly Road, for domestic assault.

A woman, 23, from New Hope, Minn., was arrested at Kinsel Road and Lorence Road, for driving after her license was revoked and without insurance as well as for property damage.

Dec. 14

A man, 22, from Eden Prairie, Minn., was arrested at Baker Road and Excelsior Boulevard, for fourth degree DWI. Police found his vehicle in a snow bank and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver stated he had been drinking beer and whiskey and admitted to feeling impaired. He submitted to a portable breath test with a result of a .257.

The Minnetonka Fire Department duty crew, chief officers and callback personnel from stations and responded to a mutual aid request from Hopkins. The Hopkins Fire Department was assisting Edina with a working structure fire in sub-zero temperatures and needed fire/rescue coverage for the city of Hopkins. 

Dec. 15

Two men, 20 and 22, both from Fridley, Minn., were arrested at County Road 101 and Sanctuary Drive, for possession of drug paraphernalia. The 20-year-old man was also arrested for marijuana possession.

A man, 38, from Golden Valley, Minn., was arrested at Ridgedale Drive and Wayzata Boulevard for DAC-IPS. This is when someone is caught driving after their license has been cancelled because it was determined that their having a license is inimical to public safety. He was also arrested for first-degree DWI. A first-degree DWI is the most serious level of DWI charge in the state.

The Minnetonka Fire Department duty crew, chief officers and callback personnel from stations and responded to a mutual aid request from Plymouth for assistance at a structure fire. Minnetonka units assisted with extinguishment, overhaul and incident management. 

Dec. 16

A man, 48, from Andover, Minn., was arrested in the 5800 block of Opus Parkway, for possession of child pornography.

A man, 25, from Minnetonka, Minn., was arrested in the 5400 block of Sanibel Drive, for domestic assault.

A man, 28, from Minnetonka, Minn., was arrested in the 100 block of Carlson Parkway, for domestic assault.

A woman, 48, from Hopkins, Minn., was arrested at Interstate 394 and Plymouth Road, for DAC-IPS. This is when someone is caught driving after their license has been cancelled because it was determined that their having a license is inimical to public safety.

Dec. 17

A woman, 40, from Minnetonka, Minn., was arrested in the 16900 block of Highway 7, for domestic assault.

A man, 40, from Plymouth, Minn., was arrested in the 1000 block of Plymouth Road, for driving without proof of insurance.

A man, 19, from Chicago, Ill., was arrested for credit card fraud/ larceny.  The incident occurred at the on County Road 101. When arrested, the man was carrying more than $1400 in cash.

Dec. 19

A man, 23, from Eden Prairie, Minn., was arrested at Interstate 394 and Ridgedale Drive, for DWI. The degree of DWI offense was not specified.

During the week of Dec. 19, the Minnetonka Fire Department's duty crew responded to a natural gas leak, a carbon monoxide alarm, 14 medicals, three lift assists, a hazardous materials investigation and two false alarms. No callbacks of on-call firefighters were initiated.

Dec. 20

A man, 27, from St. Louis Park, Minn., was arrested at Wayzata Boulevard and Plymouth Road, for fourth degree DWI.
