Investigators: Minnetonka Man Sent Nude Photo to 11yo Girl

Kevin Francis Burns is accused of bypassing filters on a children's site and convincing the girl to meet him on an unsecured chat application.

Prosecutors in Douglas County, GA, accuse a Minnetonka man of circumventing the filters on a children’s networking site and later sending an 11-year-old girl a nude photo of himself, the Douglas County Sentinel reported Wednesday.

Investigators say 23-year-old Kevin Francis Burns an Internet chat site called Kidzworld that has filters to prevent the sharing of phone numbers, email addresses, photographs and other content that could put them in danger.

They say Burns found a way to convince the girl to go on Kick Chat, a chatting application, and that he chatted with her over a few days before asking for photos of her in her bra and underwear. He then reportedly sent her a nude photo of himself.

The girl got scared, deleted her accounts and told her mother.

Investigators identified the IP address through a subpoena to Kidzworld and traced that to a Minnetonka address after serving Comcast with a search warrant. Minnetonka Police then searched Burns’ home.

He admitted that what he was doing was wrong and told police that there are probably 20 more victims out there.

Burns has been charged with computer pornography and distribution of material depicting nudity or sexual conduct.
