UPDATED CRIME REPORT: "Flasher" Reported at Minnetonka Borders Store

Also in this week's police report, an attempted burglary at a home while a young woman was inside alone.

  • During the week of March 11, duty crews responded to , two mutual aid requests from other fire departments including , 14 medical calls, and two false alarms. Minnetonka Police officers responded to 434 calls for service, made 496 traffic stops, 44 arrests and issued 253 traffic citations. 
  • On March 10, just after 7:00 p.m., Minnetonka Police responded to the near after a call came in reporting indecent exposure. When officers arrived, the manager there said she received an email from a customer saying a man had exposed himself the day before, on March 9 at about 3:00 in the afternoon. According to the email, the man exposed himself and fondled himself in front of a female customer. That woman left the store, reportedly telling a clerk what happened on the way out. Police have no suspects in the case.
  • On March 9 at 2:30 p.m., Minnetonka Police responded to a call for an attempted burglary in the 11400 block of Ridgemount Avenue W in Minnetonka. According to the homeowner, someone tried to pry open a dead-bolted door during the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., while his 20-year-old daughter was alone inside—sleeping. Responding officers noticed, and photographed, damage to the door which, “was near the lock set and appeared to be caused by a prying tool.” At this time, police have no suspects in the case.

March 7

10:52 a.m.: a woman, 54, from Golden Valley was cited outside a Minnetonka Caribou Coffee for illegally using a handicap permit.

8:28 p.m.: a car was reported stolen from the 5600 Glen Moor Road East.

March 8

5:19 p.m.: a woman, 50, from Mound, was arrested at the Ridgedale Sears for drug possession- specifically a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

March 10

3:03 p.m.: a man, 38, from Columbia Heights, was arrested at Minnetonka Industrial Boulevard and Williston Road for fifth degree dangerous drug possession—a felony.

March 11

8:40 p.m.: a man, 25, from Minneapolis, was arrested near the Northern Tool Store at Highway 7 and County Road 101, for possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 12

12:11 a.m.: a woman, 19, from Shoreview, was arrested in the 5100 block of Alameda Street for drug possession- specifically a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

3:32 p.m.: a man, 19, from Chanhassen, was arrested in the 18900 block of Manchester Street for drug possession- specifically a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

9:27 p.m.: a man, 18, from Minnetonka, was arrested steps from his home in the 5200 block of Crestwood Drive for drug possession- specifically a small amount of marijuana.

March 14

3:45 a.m.: a woman, 38, from Minneapolis, was arrested in the 2900 block of Gettysburg Avenue, for fifth degree dangerous drug possession—a felony. A 28-year-old Minneapolis man was also arrested on the scene, for obstructing police, a gross misdemeanor.
