Support Betsy Scheurer Anderson for Hopkins School Board

Please join me in voting to re-elect Betsy Scheurer Anderson to the Hopkins School Board. During her two terms on the Hopkins School Board, Betsy has remained focused on our students and their academic achievement. Betsy has also demonstrated consistent and continued responsiveness to the needs of our students and community. She is reflective and responsible in the manner she approaches important issues.

I served with Betsy on the Hopkins School Board for six years.  Betsy joined our board during a very difficult period, as the district experienced severe fiscal problems.  Betsy rolled up her sleeves and went to work to collaborate with her colleagues, developing solutions that moved our district forward, and restored the all-important focus on our students’ academic success.

During the years I served with Betsy, I watched her work tirelessly to advance education, and she still serves on the executive board of directors of the Minnesota School Boards Association and on the board of the Association of Metropolitan School Districts.  Betsy is also involved in her community in other capacities, currently serving as President of the Golden Valley Rotary.

Betsy is a longtime advocate for our Hopkins School District and all of our Minnesota students, and currently serves as the School Board Co-Chair of the Hopkins Legislative Action Coalition.  Now that I am a state legislator, I have come to appreciate Betsy’s advocacy style even more.  Betsy strongly presents the needs of our district’s learners, yet does so in a manner that facilitates collaboration and problem solving.

Betsy Scheurer Anderson has the experience, passion, and skills to continue to advance the education of all the learners in our district.  Please join me in voting for Betsy for school board on November 5.
