July 23rd, 1925 ~ July 11th, 2012
At age 86, she finished her work on earth on July 11, 2012 with her family gathered around her at her home in Minnetonka, MN. Preceded in death by her parents, Mychajlo and Eufrosyna Hnojewyj, and brother, Anatol. Born in Ukraine, Olha and her family immigrated to the United States in 1950. Olha was a devoted wife, mother, and teacher. She dedicated her life to raising her children and to educating countless non-English speaking students in the Minneapolis Public School system. Olha was also an active member of the Ukrainian community in Minnesota. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Pawlo, children Halyna (Arthur), Katia (Guy), Oleksa (Natalie), Maryna (Ihor), six adored granddaughters – Larissa, Alexandra, Valya, Kira, Antonia, Sonia; her aunt Maria, and family in Ukraine. The family thanks Svitlana Prokopiuk for her care and kindness during Olha’s 3-year struggle with adenocarcinoma of the lung.
Visitation was Friday, July 13th 5 – 7:00 p.m. and Panachyda (Prayer Service) 7:00 p.m. at Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Chapel (1918 University Ave NE Minneapolis, MN 55413). Funeral Service Saturday, July 14th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s & St. George’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church (505 – 4th Street NE Minneapolis, MN 55413).
