Matthew W. Jacobsen

Matthew W. Jacobsen, 44, of Eden Prairie, passed away on Jan. 8 while his wife, family and friends were by his side.  He received his engineering degree from Iowa State University in 1992 and had an entrepreneurial spirit owning numerous businesses, with his final legacy of Midwest Mechanical Solutions.

Matt was very passionate about youth activities. A devoted husband and father, he was also an active member of his church as part of Immaculate Heart of Mary Men's Club. Memorials are preferred to Glen Lake Mighty Mites Baseball Assoc., PO Box 1340, Minnetonka, MN 55345. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 13 from 4-8 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy in Eden Prairie. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 13505 Excelsior Blvd., Minnetonka. 

Margot Ranie Hedlund Gosen

Margot Ranie Hedlund Gosen, 75, of Minnetonka passed away on Dec. 22 after a 25-year struggle with Parkinson's Disease.

She worked in special education for District 287 (Plymouth) where she loved helping her students. She enjoyed her family and many friends, reading, travel, and her beloved Neil Diamond. Her memorial service is at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16 at Excelsior Covenant Church (19955 Excelsior Blvd.) in Excelsior, with family visitation one hour before service and lunch to follow. Private interment. Memorials preferred to National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota.

Barbara-Lee M. Nelson

Barbara-Lee Nelson, 75, of Minnetonka, passed away on Jan. 10.

According to her obituary, she was a "creative gardening expert with success in growing native plants and exotic flowers, the designer of her unique Minnetonka home, a shopping guru and an artist at wrapping gifts."

Private memorial service for family at Lakewood Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, 952-443-1400. 

Hugh Bunday

Hugh Bunday, 86, formerly a resident of Deephaven, died Dec. 14 from a heart attack. He moved to Winter Haven, FL from Pleasant Lake, MN in 2004.

Hugh was proud of his 44 years as a Mason, and in 1977 he was the Master of Wayzata Lodge #205. He is survived by his daughters, Martha Bunday of Winter Haven and Janet Bunday of Minnetonka, MN; and grandchildren Sarah and Adam Burger. A memorial service was held Jan. 11 in Lake Wales, FL. Memorials may be made to the Tri-County Humane Society, 735 8th St. NE, St. Cloud, MN 56304. 

Edmond Andre Nelson

Edmond Andre Nelson, 79, of Minnetonka, passed away on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014.

Interment will be Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave S, Mpls. A Celebration of Ed's life will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14 at noon at the American Legion, 290 Lake Dr. E., Chanhassen. 

Charles Arthur Groth

Charles Arthur Groth, 85, of Minnetonka, died suddenly, but peacefully surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a long-time employee of Turnquist Paper Co. Memorial service is Monday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Edina (6817 Antrim Road). Visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Private interment at Ft. Snelling. Memorials are preferred to Calvary Lutheran Church Edina.
