Pitch-In To Help Tornado Victims

Wondering how you can help metro neighbors dealing with the fallout from last weekend's tornados? Here are a few suggestions.

Today's news headlines and cameras are righfully focused on southwest Missouri, where a huge swath of Joplin was literally blown off the map, with many people killed, injured or missing.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the folks there.  But there's also work to be done closer to home.

Sunday’s tornado left two people dead, scores injured and at least $166 million in damage to the North Minneapolis area.  And that figure doesn't even include the affected neighborhoods in St. Louis Park, Fridley and Brooklyn Park. While the devastation was, thankfully, not as great here, local tornado victims are still in need of your support now and in the months to come.  From addressing basic needs to rebuilding personal homes and public and private buildings – join efforts now and volunteer in order to help restore our community.  After all, a funnel could just as easily have dropped in Minnetonka, too.

Several Twin Cities organizations are providing support.  Here's how you, your family and neighbors can help:

  -  KMOJ Radio Station– KMOJ-FM is providing a host of resources to individuals and groups that are wondering how to help in tornado relief efforts.
