  • With the undercut still popular this spring, bold blonde help to amplify this rock star look and elevate the style to classy chick.  Miley Cyrus rocks this look.
  • Reds are the new blondes! Think of auburn or lighter red colors. Jessica Chastain is a spot-on example of this trend.
  • Rich, even chocolaty brunettes like Kate Middleton are very on trend.
  • Both red heads and brunettes are lightening their locks with blended ombre color.  Seen on stars like Jessica Alba, ombre gives a subtle and soft look that requires less maintenance. Jessica shows off this trend with deep chestnut roots that fade to a tawny medium brown.
  • Highlights around the face are always a great way to lighten up or soften your look for spring. From blondes to brunettes, golden and buttery shades can add warmth and glow to a style while soft lowlights blend for a slight edgy effect.

Before making a big hair color change, the stylists at Fantastic Sams take three important factors into consideration:

  • Skin Tone: Are you a cool tone or warm tone? Your hair color should complement your skin tone. For example, a peaches-and-cream complexion looks most natural with a copper blond hair color. This color combination creates a natural look. A cool-toned hair color on a warm skin tone will make the skin look pale and mismatched.
    • Hair Texture:  Hair texture may impact the type of color that will take best to your hair. For example, straight hair is easier to make shiny while curlier hair tends to look fuzzier. The type of hair color used and the placement of the color will have a huge impact on the outcome of your color and shine.
    • You!:  Your personal style plays a role in the types of cuts or the color your stylist can perform. A classic bob can look great on one person and not work at all for another. This also holds true when you want a new look, your stylists will need to see if it is a possibility or if it something you will need to grow into or have slight modified to help you look your personal best.  The most important thing is to work closely with your stylist.
