Retired Marine WIll Run 24 Hours to Grant Dream for MN Child: Letter to the Editor

Tom Knoll, a 79-year-old retired Marine, takes on the challenge of raising funds for Rose from Roseville. Rose suffers from Cerebral Palsy and has a dream to visit Disney World.

To the Editor,

I wanted to share this exciting story with you. Tom Knoll will be here in Minnesota just until Sunday on his way to International Falls. He will return on Friday, July 13–although Mr. Knoll is not done running. The very next day he will begin a 24-hour run.

Tom will help answer the dream of Rose, a 12-year-old from Roseville, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy. Rose has a dream to visit Disney World.

His run will begin at July 14 at 12 p.m. and end July 15 at 12 p.m. We are encouraging volunteers to run and support Tom in his mission.

MN Dream Catchers, an all-volunteer chapter of the Sunshine Foundation, will be there with Rose to support her dream come true. Children that are past recipients of dreams from the Sunshine Foundation will also be in attendance.  We are encouraging military personnel to also run with Tom. Members of the MN National Guard have also requested to run with Tom.

We are requesting your support in bringing awareness of this event. I also attached a picture today of Tom with my son. My son Khalil suffered a TBI during birth. He was also granted a dream to visit Disney World in August of 2011. This is why we formed the all volunteer MN Dream Catchers Chapter of the Sunshine Foundation.

Thank you,

Kelly Anderson
