Financial Aid gets going this month for Class of 2014

The CSS Profile Form is now open. If you are applying for financial aid at a private school, this is step one. This can now be accessed at https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/prf/index.jsp. Whereas the FAFSA is for awarding of Federal and State funds, the Profile is used by many schools for awarding nonfederal student aid.  To find out if a school you are applying to requires the Profile, visit https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/prf/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet.srv.  

Schools have different deadlines for the submission of the Profile, so take a look now to see when these are due.   The FAFSA does not open until January, but the Profile can be filled out now! If you have a student who is applying ED, fill this out sooner rather than later as it will be used to provide you with an estimate of financial aid should an acceptance be offered.
