Can I wear my boots in the summer?

Skinny jeans and boots were all the rage this past fall/winter. Is it appropriate to wear boots in the summer?

I have been asked this and have heard our customers whisper the question as they wander through our clothing boutique. Rest assured your boots will not collect dust this summer! From cowboy boots to ruched leather boots—not only can you make it work; you can make it a fashion wow moment!

Let’s start with the classic cowboy boot. One of the cutest and easiest ways to wear cowboy boots in the summer is with a skirt or dress. This look works best if the dress or skirt is above the knees. There must be just enough skin showing to keep you cool when it’s hot and to acknowledge that it is summer. Check out this adorable picture of a Jennifer Bethune, an Alabama resident. For the more daring fashionistas out there, try wearing your cowboy boots with short jean shorts or super short jean skirt!

Let’s move on to the tall boot. From leather to pleather, it’s wearable in the summer! We all own at least one pair of skinny jeans, right?! During the winter, we easily pared our skinny jeans with a long vest or tunic and our favorite boots. Easy. Summer can be that easy too! Take your beloved skinny jeans, pair it with a slouchy tank top or short sleeved top and of course your favorite boots. The tank top/short sleeved shirt keeps you cool and (like the short skirt) acknowledges the season. A cool look for day or night! If you don't own a pair of boots, don’t wait until fall. The time is now!

P.S. Uggs or fur-lined suede boots are never fashionable in summer. Period.
