Oliver! at Minnetonka Theatre

Tickets are now on sale for Oliver!, the Charles Dickens class with a holiday "twist," presented this fall by Minnetonka Theatre. Running on the Arts Center on 7 Main Stage from Dec. 7-15, this beloved family friendly classic will follow up the previous sold out holiday productions of Annie and The Sound of Music.

Dates: Dec. 7, 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m./Dec. 8, 14 and 15 at 1 p.m./Dec. 15  at 5 p.m.

Tickets: $20 Adult, $16 Senior (65+), $14 Youth (under 18)

The Nutcracker ballet

This authentically Russian version of the holiday fairytale is faithful to the original and enduring classical Petipa choreography. The Nutcracker features of cast of over 60 local dancers.

This is not a typical school performance―  the artistry is superb, the sets are stunning, the music is pure Tchaikovsky, and the guest artists are Russians.

Nutcracker Performances

Dates: Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.

Tickets: Section A/Section B: $29/$23 Adults; $25/$19 Senior; $23/$17 Children 10 and under. Buy tickets here

Burwell Holiday open house

Visit the annual Victorian Holiday Open House at the Burwell House Sunday, Dec. 1, from 1–4 p.m., presented by the Minnetonka Historical Society.

Visitors may take a self-guided tour to view typical Victorian holiday decorations in the home. Refreshments will be served. This is a free event. Limited parking, including handicapped spaces, is available close to the house with additional parking at St. David's Family Resource Center across Plymouth Road.

The Minnetonka Historical Society offers memberships to the public and appreciates donations to promote the preservation of Minnetonka's historical artifacts and stories. The Burwell House, located at 13209 E. McGinty Road, is owned and maintained by the city of Minnetonka.

S’mores and More

• Dec. 27, 6–7:30 p.m.
• Gro Tonka Park 17003 Prospect Place, Minnetonka
Experiencing cabin fever? If so, get outdoors this winter with Hopkins-Minnetonka Recreation Services and Three Rivers Park District for s’mores by the fire, hot chocolate, ice skating, sledding, snowshoeing and kick-sledding. Bring your skates and a chair to sit by the bonfire. Registration is not required. Call (952) 939-8355 to check on any weather cancellations.


Holiday Craft Party

• Dec. 12, 9:30–10:30 a.m.
It's an ornament making party! Children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Ages 18 months through 6 years.

Frosty the Snowman Art Camp

• Jan. 2 & 3, 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Create snowman-themed art using a variety of materials. Ages 4–9. Course #29978, $60.
