Arctic Fever

Venues: Downtown Excelsior, Shorewood and Tonka Bay
Dates: Jan. 17-19
Event description: On Friday night, sign up to build a snow scupture. Then, come to the Southshore Center and Badger Park in Shorewood (5735 Country Club Road) for some great winter fun. See snow sculptures, ice skate, have hot cocoa, enjoy skating music, free Joey Nova's pizza (while supply lasts) and more. On Sunday, take your daughter to a Princess Tea. Weekend events include a magic show, fat bike race, Excelsior Brewing party, snowshoeing, dog sled races, geocaching, human bowling and more. Check out the full schedule attached to this article.

Family Fire Day

Venue: Minnetonka Fire Station 1
Venue address: 14550 Minnetonka Boulevard in Minnetonka
Dates: Saturday, Jan. 18: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Event description: The Minnetonka Fire Department’s “What If?” public educators invite you to Family Fire Day. Enjoy a tour of the fire station and see a firefighter dressed in full fire gear. The 20-foot inflatable slide will be ready for fun, and Sparky the fire safety dog will be on hand for photos. Program is free.

11th Annual Dream Makers

Venue name: Legends Club at Target Field
Venue address: 353 North 5th Street in Minneapolis
Date and time: Feb. 8: 6 p.m.
Event description: The event is hosted by the Minnetonka Public Schools Foundation. The Foundation funds innovative programs and materials that benefit all students in Minnetonka Schools. Highlights: Silent auction with E-bidding technology in the Puckett Atrium, live auction and inspirational program in the Carew Atrium, and extra inning fun in the 573.
Ticket price: Tickets go on sale Jan. 6: $75/ticket until Jan. 31, $85 after.

30th Annual Chilly Open

Venue name: Wayzata Bay on Lake Minnetonka
Date and time: Feb. 8: Tee times 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Event description: "The largest, most well-known and unusual golf tournament held on a frozen lake." This year's theme is the Olympics. The event includes a Chili Cookoff (all-you-can-eat for golfers), nine holes of golf, live music and prizes.
Ticket price: $40 per golfer
