Mini-Hops girls’ gymnastics teams’ levels 4 and 5 attend their first of three attempts to qualify for the Minnesota State Junior Olympic Gymnastics Championships.
The first session started with the level 5 teams. There were five teams with 43 gymnasts. The second session was with level 4 teams which consisted nine teams with 43 gymnasts. All gymnasts required an individual minimum all-around score of 32.00 to qualify for the State Gymnastics Championship. Gymnasts competed as a team, however individually competed against each other by age group for awards.
Congratulations to Ava M., Victoria S., Isabella H., Sasha A., Sophia C, Lucille J, Caitlyn C., Kaija P, Ruby G, Mae M. from the level 4 team and Isabella B., Chantal X., Paige M. of level 5 team who qualified in the first round for the state championship.

Level 4 gymnasts competed according to age brackets (ages 9 and under, 10, 11+). Within the team, the top three individual scores in each event are combined and equated for final team score.
Top score for age bracket 9 and under was Ava M. (Plymouth), scored 8.250 and tied for 3rd on vault, 9.300 and placed 1st on uneven bars, 8.425 and placed 6th on beam, 9.100 and placed 2nd on floor. Her final score was 35.075 and placed 1st on all-around.
Victoria S. (St. Louis Park, age 9 and under) scored 8.425 and placed 1st on vault, 9.150 and placed 2nd on uneven bars, 8.000 and placed 12th on beam, 8.600 and placed 6th on floor. Her final score was 34.175 and placed 3rd on all-around.
Isabella H. (Maple Grove, age 9 and under) scored 7.850 and tied for 9th on vault, 9.050 and placed 3rd on uneven bars, 8.550 and placed 5th on beam, 8.550 and tied for 7th on floor. Her final score was 34.000 and placed 4th on all-around.
Sasha A. (Plymouth, age 9 and under), scored 8.100 and tied for 6th on vault, 8.250 and tied for 6th on uneven bars, 8.775 and placed 3rd on beam, 8.750 and tied for 4th on floor. Her final score was 33.875 and placed 5th on all-around.
