Mini-Hops Girls Compulsory Gymnasts Compete in 2nd State Qualifier

Mini-Hops girls compulsory teams level 5 and 6 make another attempt to qualify for the Minnesota State Gymnastics Championships slated for the weekend of December 8, 2012.

To qualify for the State Gymnastics Championships a gymnast needs to acquire a minimum score of 32.000 in the all-around.

Two girls who qualified in the first round were Isabella B. (Wayzata) from level 5 and Chelsea L. (Mound) of level 6.

Congratulations to Lucille J. (St. Louis Park) from the level 5 team who qualified in this round for the State Gymnastics Championships.

 

Mini-Hops Gymnastics Level 5 Girls Team

Coached by; Holly Friker, Dan Anderson, Gabrielle Grier and Becky Schneider.

There were seven teams at this session with approximately 58 gymnasts.

Top score was awarded to Isabella B. (Wayzata) who scored 8.025 on vault and placed 17th, 9.525 on uneven bars and tied for 3rd, 8.750 on beam and placed 6th, 8.575 on floor and placed 8th.  With a score of 34.875 Isabella placed 6th in the all-around.

Lucille J. (St. Louis Park) scored 8.100 on vault and tied for 15th, 8.925 on uneven bars to tie for 11th, 8.300 on beam to place 14th and 7.450 on floor to tie for 23rd.  An all-around score of 32.775 gave her a 17th place.

Kaija P. (Minnetonka) scored 7.375 on vault and placed 18th, 7.750 on uneven bars to tie for 12th, 8.475 on beam and placed 6th, 8.075 on floor and placed 7th.  A total score of 31.675 in all-around placed her at 9th.

Lauren F. (Plymouth) scored 7.750 on vault to place 11th, 8.300 on uneven bars to tie for 6th, 7.525 on beam to place 15th and a 7.900 on floor to place 9th.  With a score of 31.475 in all-around Lauren placed 10th.

Ruby G. (Golden Valley) scored 8.550 on vault to place 15th, 8.050 on uneven bars to tie for 10th, 8.225 on vault to place 7th, 7.550 on floor to place 13th.  A total score of 31.375 in all-around gave her 12th place.

Brooke D. (Chanhassen) scored 7.925 on vault to place 11th, 7.700 on uneven bars to place 12th, 7.925 on beam to place 11th and 7.275 on floor to place 13th.  Final all-around score of 30.825 gave Brooke an 11th spot.

Overall team scored a 100.875 giving them a 4th place.

 

Mini-Hops Gymnastics Level 6 Girls Team

Coached by; Holly Friker, Dan Anderson, Gabrielle Grier and Becky Schneider

There were seven teams at the session with approximately 53 level 6 gymnasts.  Although all gymnasts needed a minimum all-around score of 32.00 to qualify for the State Gymnastics Championship, they competed as a team, however were separated by age (7-10yrs, 11yrs and 12+yrs) for awards.

Top score and qualifier was awarded to Chelsea L. (Mound, age 12+) who scored 8.475 on vault and placed 9th, 8.150 on uneven bars to place 10th, 8.200 on beam to place 12th and 8.500 on floor to place 4th.  With an all-around score of 33.325 Chelsea placed 7th.

Taylor N. (Wayzata, age 11) scored 7.950 on vault to place 13th, 7.775 on uneven bars to place 9th, 8.300 on beam to place 5th and 7.525 on floor to place 10th.  31.550 total score gave Taylor 8th in all-around.

Georgia C. (Edina, age 11) scored 8.050 on vault to tie for 10th, 7.400 on uneven bars to place 11th, 7.900 on beam to tie for 11th and 8.025 on floor to place 5th.  With a total score of 31.375 Georgia placed 10th in all-around.

Chantal X. (Plymouth, age 7-10) scored 8.575 on vault gaving her a 10th place, 7.725 on uneven bars to place 15th, 7.450 on beam to place 19th and 7.600 on floor to tie for 15th.  With a total score of 31.350 Chantal placed 16th in all-around.

Avery S. (Plymouth, age 7-10) scored 7.925 on vault to place 17th, 6.400 on uneven bars to place 19th, 8.125 on beam to place 17th and 7.475 on floor to place 18th.  A final score of 29.925 gave Avery a 19th place in all-around.

Sydney W. (Minnetonka, age 7-10) scored 8.525 on vault to tie for 11th place, 6.250 on uneven bars to place 20th, 7.050 on beam to place 21st and 7.450 on floor to place 19th.  Final score of 29.275 gave Sydney a 21st place in all-around.

Girls level 6 combine team score was 97.975 to give them a 6th place team standing in their session.

Congratulations to Lucille J. (St. Louis Park) who qualified this round and will join her other team mate at the State Gymnastics Championship.  Good luck on the other girls who have another chance to make it to the championship at the 3rd qualifier scheduled for November 18, 2012.
