classic-to-contemporary jazz ensemble for a Tribute to Tito Puente
featuring Rey Rivera.

Tito Puente (1923-2000) was a pioneering
force in jazz, creating a new fusion of big band, Latin and salsa music.
The JazzMN Orchestra and Twin Cities percussionist Rey
Rivera will guide us in honoring Tito by performing his
original transcripts, along with many works inspired by this jazz
legend. The concert will also feature Twin Cities vocalist Lucia
Newell.
