Honor Your Veteran

The Lake Minnetonka Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will honor veterans through its second annual Veterans Day salute, the “Plant a Flag for Freedom” event, on Sunday, November 10.  This event is a great opportunity for all members of the public to recognize  veterans in their families and communities from all eras by planting a flag in their honor. Thousands of flags will blanket Heritage Park in downtown Wayzata as DAR volunteers provide a flag for each veteran and register the veteran’s name on an Honor Board!  Dignitaries will be present to recognize and thank POWs and Veterans from WWII, Vietnam, and Gulf conflicts attending. Join us 11 AM to 2 PM on Sunday, November 10, 2013 with Patriotic Ceremony at 12 Noon. Flags will be provided. See you there!
