Family-Friendly BOO-seum and Ghost Trolley Tour

Bring the
whole family to Excelsior for Halloween fun Friday and Saturday, October 25
& 26, 2013. This annual holiday treat, presented by the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Historical Society
& the Minnesota Streetcar Museum, includes a family-friendly trip through the
"haunted" museum and a trolley ride down the spooky trail. It all
takes place from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at 305 Water Street in downtown Excelsior.



 



Jeffrey Hatcher,
recent Ivey lifetime achievement winner, Don Stolz and Don Shelby, along with
Mark Benninghoffen and others, will present The
War of the Worlds
. This year is the 75th anniversary of the
broadcast directed and narrated by actor Orson Welles, based on
the adaptation of H. G. Wells's novel The
War of the Worlds. The stage show starts at
8 p.m. in the parking lot next to the museum.

Everyone is
encouraged to come in costume, especially Martian and alien garb. There will be
a Best Martian costume contest on the stage at 7:30 p.m. each night, with the
winner chosen by audience applause.

The event is rated “A
for Awesome” by kids of all ages who love a good scare. Tickets are $7 for adults
and $5 for children age 10 and under, and can be purchased at the door. There
will be kid-friendly food and snacks available for sale during the event. Visit

The BOO-seum and Haunted Trolley Tour is
the annual fundraiser for the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Historical Society
(ELMHS), a volunteer and membership organization which operates the historical
archives for the communities of Deephaven,
Excelsior, Greenwood, Shorewood, and Tonka Bay. The Society’s museum and
archives are free and open to the public, and hold the largest collection of
historic artifacts and documents in the area. ELMHS activities are supported by
