"Off the Page" is an annual event which brings high school students and local professional writers together.

“Off the Page” is an annual event which brings high school students and local professional writers together.

Kevin Smith, a graduate and the Executive Director of Public Affairs for the Minnesota Twins, will be one of the professionals coming to speak with students. Others include Joyce Sutphen - Minnesota Poet Laureate, Gustavus Professor, Kevin Seifert - NFL Blogger (ESPN) and Emily Sohn - Science, Adventure & Education Author.

High school students will interview each of the writers in front of a live audience during the program. One of the goals of the event is to show students how writing is used by adults every day. Whether they are interested in business, sports, travel or poetry – there are opportunities to follow your passion and use your writing skills.
