New Details in Case of Missing Elderly Man

Minnetonka Patch has new details in the search for the 84-year old man.

Last week, an elderly Minnetonka man went missing for more than 24 hours. And now Minnetonka city officials have released more information on the incident, which Minnetonka Patch and several other local media outlets reported as breaking news.

According to Minnetonka Police, on June 26, local officers took a report of a missing 84-year-old male, Jan Magnus Hoegfeldt, who had left his home in the 5300 block of Minnetoga Terrace in Minnetonka, but failed to return several hours later.

Hoegfeldt's wife informed officers that her husband has short term memory loss but does drive on a regular basis. He reportedly has a difficult time getting in and out of his car.

At the time of the report, there had not been any activity on the Hoegfeldt's credit card.  An alert to area law enforcement agencies was sent out and on June 27th, and Hoegfeldt was spotted in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis before being found by Richfield police. Richfield officers found Hoegfeldt in his vehicle, parked in a business parking lot.

Richfield officers said the male appeared to be in good health, but for precautionary reasons, had him transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.
