Pet Update: Do You Have a Soft Spot for Some Spaniels?

A recent influx of dogs at the Animal Humane Society has left some Spaniels looking for loving homes.

I thought I’d post another pet column this week, since two dozen dogs were voluntarily surrendered this week to the . The family that had housed the animals—also among them were two cats—could no longer care for all of the animals.

The animals are being prepared for adoption and are available at all five Animal Humane Society locations in the metro.

The dogs are a variety of mixes and ages. They include: Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Springer Spaniels, Beagles and, perhaps, Boston Terriers. The Spaniels are first to hit the adoption floor.

Potential adopters are encouraged to check theadoptable animals section on the Animal Humane Society website. All the dogs that recently came in are identified as Special Project, as dogs coming from these types of situations often have special considerations.

Carrie Libera of the Animal Humane Society and I  look forward to bringing you the newest Pet of the Week on Monday
