How Hard Did the Storm Hit You in Minnetonka?

Storms blew through Minnetonka for a second night in a row Friday evening, causing another round of damage and power outages. Here are some of the comments from the Minnetonka Facebook page:

• Candace Romero: No power 394/Hopkins Crossroad
• Tracy Daley Emanoff: 101 and 7...the storm was crazy and I was driving in it when it started...but luckily we have power. We had lost power from 3:30-11am from the Friday morning storm, however.
• Cathy Olson:  No power in Minnetrista - out by Al and Alma's - Xcel says Monday...
• Kim Banyard: No power tonkawood and lk st extension
Julie Jacobs Deitering: no power 30 hours and they say mon midnight earliest which is wed or thurs on their clock.
• Jan Westervall Dufault: No power - Williston, south of 7
• Jen Brink-Edwards: No power since Friday night around 8 and a flooded basement. On Cathcart park, North of 7 and Church.

Xcel Energy reported that approximately 514,100 Minnesotans were without power after the second intense storm cell moved through Friday night.

Just before 9 p.m. Saturday night, Xcel Energy announced on Twitter that it had restored power to more than 400,000 customers as of 7 p.m. Workers are still working to restore power to the other 111,600 customers as soon as possible, the tweet said.

If you are a Minnetonka resident who is out of power, city officials announced Saturday evening that Williston Fitness Center is available for you to use free of charge until power is restored. They encourage people to come in, take a shower or charge your phone.

The city of Minnetonka reported Saturday morning that there were 35 trees down around the city. Crews started clearing the most critical trees Saturday morning and finished the rest Monday.
