  • Why Go: The Kelly Drive Pumpkin Growers Association is hosting its 15th annual event featuring tractor rides, pumpkin weigh-ins, face painting and a parade of pumpkins.

  • Where: Various locations around the city
  • Why Go: The day will include lilac planting, a chalk-drawing contest, presentations about chimney swifts and buckthorn, and litter pick-up at the edge of the Laurel Avenue Ponds.

Pat's Tap

  • Why Go: Swing by the newly opened Pat’s Tap (formerly Casey’s) for some microbrews, homemade cheese-its and vintage skee-ball.

  • Why Go: You still have a chance to catch the Minnesota debut of this unique equestrian show that celebrates the bond between human and horse.

  • Why Go: Buzz into the lives of honeybees to discover how honey is extracted from combs. Attendees will also take a pollination hike, make a candle and taste the sweetness of life.

  • Why Go: Preschool aged children are invited to explore the library and enjoy a musical adventure performance. Attendees will also receive a free book.

  • Why Go: Music lovers of all ages will enjoy performances from three bands; The Bucket Shack Travelers, Gino N' Jason, and David Booth - After the Rapture.

  • Where: Gale Woods Farm (7210 County Road 101 Ext, Minnetrista)
  • Why Go: Meander over to the farm to meet the animals, help the farmer with seasonal chores and other fun farm activities.

  • When: From 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday
  • Where: 
  • Why Go: Jump on your bike and follow the Dakota Regional Trail to the Art Center's open house. The afternoon will be filled with tours of the art facility, art demonstrations, art making activities for kids, a Raku Firing and Bronze Pour.

Edina

  • When: From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday
  • Where: 
  • Why Go: Join the altruistic family fall fun with live music, games, food and more.
  • Price: Free general admission, tickets for food and games will be available for purchase at the park.

 

  • When: From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday; from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday; and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday
  • Where: 
  • Why Go: This workshop, led by Catholic Priest and Buddhist Roshi Robert Kennedy, will address contemplative prayer, a mediation experience and a public forum.

  • Why Go: Be the judge of all the best Chilies in town and enjoy live music from The Bad Larry’s.
