Pregnant Moms Benefit From Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care during pregnancy is very safe for mom and baby leading to a healthier pregnancy and reduced labor and delivery time.

Michelle recently gave birth to a very healthy baby boy.

During early pregnancy she had mild, intermittent low back pain.  Throughout pregnancy, her pain gradually became worse. Her low back was hurting her most of the day, and she started having pain and numbness down her leg.  She came in for chiropractic care at 25 weeks.  After 3-4 adjustments with acupuncture, her leg was no longer numb and painful.  And her low back pain went from about a 7 to low 2, at worst.  She said her baby started to move more, and she felt more "connected" with him.  Sleeping became more comfortable and her ligament pain around her abdomen diminished.  She had a relatively short labor (5-6 hours) for her first and delivery was smooth without unnecessary interventions!

Pain is the most common complaint of pregnancy, but with pain comes decreased function of the same nerves which control all other body organ functions.  Restricted joints lead to intrauterine constraint, which does not allow the baby to move around as it should and position himself right for delivery.  The Webster Technique can be used to properly position the baby and prevent a breech birth.  Taking the pressure off these joints allowed her body to do what it is suppose to do naturally.
